These are the new CD's / MP3's that I have purchased in September and October 2017. If you click on the album photo, it will take you to purchase the CD's.
Listia, in short, is like eBay, but instead of getting money for your purchases, you get credits. With those credits you can buy other items. If you so desire you can also cash them out for real cash, but in my opinion, you would get more bang for your buck to keep the credits and get items you want with it. Listia is so much easier to list and sale items than eBay.
Currently, as of 11/11/17, the transaction rate for credits is 27,500 Credits per US$1 .
Listia is a free online marketplace and mobile app for trading goods between individuals without using money. The platform has a system known as Listia credits to facilitate the trades. Users earn credits for giving away items they no longer need and can then use credits to get items that other users have listed. The marketplace uses an auction system where users bid on each other's items until the auction ends and the highest bidder wins. The user who listed the item then arranges for a pickup or ships the item directly to the winner.
In addition to the web site, Listia is also available as a native mobile app on both Android and Apple iOS devices.
Users may leave feedback at the end of transactions and there is a dispute system available, should someone not follow through with stated rules. The Listia support team handle cases and acts as a mediator between the buyer and seller. Sellers have the option to charge for shipping or provide free shipping. Buyers can filter listings based on their preferred shipping method.
Listia has created a system called Listia Credits to help facilitate trading on the site. Users earn credits during sign-up and then continue to earn more as they place items in the marketplace. Purchasing credits is also an option, and is Listia's main business model. Users may also gain credits by leaving feedback, completing offers on the site, participating in promotions, and general courtesies.
Closed Loop System
Listia credits are not classified as a true currency, but are a closed-loop stored value system. Credits are usable only within the limited scope of the Listia marketplace and cannot be exchanged or redeemed for money at any time. Credits also cannot be gifted or transmitted between users outside of a legitimate auction in the marketplace.
Inflation and Deflation
The number of credits a particular item will sell for has fluctuated over time due to various causes such as inflation and deflation during the early part of Listia's history. As the marketplace matured and liquidity increased, the fluctuation has decreased but prices still shift up and down based on current supply and demand trends. Looking at the history of one of the most popular items on Listia (Amazon gift cards) the scale of the price fluctuations can be seen.
In October/November 2009 a $5 Amazon gift card would sell for about 300-600 credits. By August/September 2010 $5 Amazon gift cards were going for double the price, 1000 credits. Looking at Amazon gift cards in May–October 2011 a $5 card sold for 2900 credits. Current auctions for these gift cards top 1500 credits per dollar.[
Credits to Cash
Starting in 2015, Listia silently released the option to sell credits for cash to select users. In order to qualify, the user must have the Trusted Seller's Badge (15 consecutive positive seller feedback on auctions they hosted and maintained a minimum 95% seller rating for 20 days)[ and have had accumulated 500,000 credits through their own auctions in the previous month. The user's payment is handled through PayPal. Since the option to sell, credit inflation has sky rocketed. As of now in March 2016, $1 = 7850 credits. Just last week it was 7500.
Listia also backs their buyers & sellers fully.
Buyers get a FULL REFUND of credits:
- If an item won on Listia is not received or significantly not as described in the listing
- If a seller changes the listing terms (as outlined in the description) after it ends, and the buyer disagrees
- If a seller claims to have not received payment for shipping, and the buyer has proof the funds were transferred through a Listia Assurance protected payment method
Sellers can KEEP ALL credits*:
- If a winner does not pay shipping, is non-responsive, or otherwise experiences buyer's remorse
- If a winner claims they did not receive an item, but the seller has provided a valid tracking number indicating the item was delivered to the winner's verified address
- *Applicable after a winner has paid for the item. If a winner does not pay, the seller may cancel the transaction, list the item again, and listing fees are fully refunded.
How it Works
- Contact the seller or buyer if you have an issue and try to resolve it.
- If that doesn't work, just file a dispute from your listing page.
- We work with both parties and make a decision based on the guidelines above.
Which methods of paying for shipping protect my credits under Listia Assurance?
When items you win on Listia have shipping fees, you will need to send payment to the seller. The following methods of payment have you protected under Listia Assurance:
- PayPal and Google Wallet
- Personal checks
- Money orders
If the auction seller claims they did not receive payment, but you are able to show proof that the funds were transferred, then you will be eligible for a full credit refund.
The remaining payment method that is allowed by Listia, but not protected under Listia Assurance, is concealed cash. Sending cash in the mail is essentially untraceable, and using this method does not guarantee that you will be eligible for a full credit refund should your seller claim that shipping payment was not received.
What's Not Covered?
Listia does not handle the payment of shipping costs between buyer and seller, and therefore is not able to refund shipping costs incurred by either party. When paying a seller shipping costs, the best way to protect your money is to use a payment processor such as PayPal, which offers PayPal Purchase Protection. PT Cubes, a Cool Desk Toy for Science Teachers, Students and Technology Admirers, Invites Kickstarter Contributions
York, PA — Everyone today is familiar with, and still admires, the very organized and functional periodic table without which no chemistry class could be run. An innovative project is now bringing sleek, cut and polished elements from the periodic table in the form of cubes that can be kept on a desk or working table.
B-My's is now inviting contributions for making small, one inch polished cubes from elements such as Aluminum, Zinc, Iron, Chromium, Titanium, Nickel, Copper and Zirconium. All cubes will contain at least 90% of the original metal, and the surface will be polished and laser labeled with the element’s name, symbol, atomic number and atomic weight.
“If you are a teacher, you are bound to talk about these elements. How impressed would your students be if you handled them a block of a real element?” says Brian Meyers Jr. of B-My's.
The PT cubes will be a great possession for teachers, students of various faculties, engineers, and everyone who admires the world and receives inspiration from the wonders of nature. PT cube will form a portion of the periodic table, which enlists all basic elements that the world is made of, right at an arm’s distance or to be held and touched, or compared. For visitors too, the PT cubes will form an interesting topic of conversation.
“Have the excitement of metals from the Periodic Table at your fingertips. We have delivered fully and on time for our previous Kickstarter projects, and we plan on doing the same for this one,” says Brian Meyers Jr.
The PT Cubes crowdfunding page is now open for funding, and is an all or nothing project, to be funded only if the goal is met by December 16, 2017.

How would you like to have elements from the Periodic Table on your desk that you can feel and touch? Well, now you can! Order the PT Cubes Today! For one low price, you can order a set of 4 cubes.
Are you a Teacher, an Engineer, or just someone who likes cool desk toys? Well, now you can have your very own elements from the periodic table at an arm’s reach with PT Cubes.
When these are on your desk, you can look, touch, and hold them.
If you are a teacher, you are bound to talk about these elements. How impressed would your students be if you handled them a block of a real element?
If you are an engineer, like myself, you are always thinking outside the box about the next big thing. With these blocks, you could play with them, or compare the materials for your next project.
Even if you aren’t a teacher or an engineer, you can place these on your desk or on a table at home for great conversation pieces. Impress your guests with elements that they never heard of!
What elements will you get if you order?
For the lower level (Starting at just $38 USD), you will get 4 PT Cubes with 1 stand. The elements you will receive are Aluminum (AL), Zinc (Zn), Iron (Fe), and Chromium (Cr).
Aluminium is a relatively soft, durable, lightweight, ductile, and malleable metal with appearance ranging from silvery to dull gray, depending on the surface roughness. It is nonmagnetic and does not easily ignite. A fresh film of aluminium serves as a good reflector (approximately 92%) of visible light and an excellent reflector. The yield strength of pure aluminium is 7–11 MPa, while aluminium alloys have yield strengths ranging from 200 MPa to 600 MPa. Aluminium has about one-third the density and stiffness of steel. It is easily machined, cast, drawn and extruded.
Zinc is a bluish-white, lustrous, diamagnetic metal, though most common commercial grades of the metal have a dull finish. It is somewhat less dense than iron. The metal is hard and brittle at most temperatures but becomes malleable between 100 and 150 °C. Above 210 °C, the metal becomes brittle again and can be pulverized by beating. Zinc is a fair conductor of electricity. For a metal, zinc has relatively low melting (419.5 °C) and boiling points (907 °C). Many alloys contain zinc, including brass.
Iron metal has been used since ancient times. Pure iron is relatively soft, but is unobtainable by smelting because it is significantly hardened and strengthened by impurities, in particular carbon, from the smelting process. Crude iron metal is produced in blast furnaces.
Chromium is remarkable for its magnetic properties: it is the only elemental solid which shows antiferromagnetic ordering at room temperature (and below). Above 38 °C, it changes to paramagnetic.
For the upper level (starting at $110 USD), you will get the 4 above + 1 Stand, and the following 4 PT Cubes with another stand. The elements you will get extra include Titanium (Ti), Nickel (Ni), Copper (Cu), and Zirconium (Zr).
Titanium, as a metal, is recognized for its high strength-to-weight ratio. It is a strong metal with low density that is quite ductile (especially in an oxygen-free environment), lustrous, and metallic-white in color. The relatively high melting point (more than 1,650 °C or 3,000 °F) makes it useful as a refractory metal. It is paramagnetic and has fairly low electrical and thermal conductivity.
Nickel is a silvery-white metal with a slight golden tinge that takes a high polish. It is one of only four elements that are magnetic at or near room temperature, the others being iron, cobalt and gadolinium. Its Curie temperature is 355 °C (671 °F), meaning that bulk nickel is non-magnetic above this temperature.
Copper is one of a few metallic elements with a natural color other than gray or silver. Pure copper is orange-red and acquires a reddish tarnish when exposed to air. The characteristic color of copper results from the electronic transitions between the filled 3d and half-empty 4s atomic shells – the energy difference between these shells corresponds to orange light.
Zirconium is a lustrous, grayish-white, soft, ductile and malleable metal that is solid at room temperature, though it is hard and brittle at lesser purities. In powder form, zirconium is highly flammable, but the solid form is much less prone to ignition. Zirconium is highly resistant to corrosion by alkalis, acids, salt water and other agents.
About the blocks are base:
The base will have 4 cutouts to display; it is made out of Aluminum and will be Black Anodized. This is made in the U.S.A.
All blocks will be made overseas; all will be polished and be labeled with a laser similar to the Aluminum block. Due to high costs, we were only able to obtain some samples of Aluminum, but the other blocks that are smaller are just examples of the final product. Each block is a 1” (25.4 mm) Cube. All metals will contacts at least 90% of the original metal.
We have delivered fully and on time for our previous Kickstarter projects and we plan on doing the same for this one!
Listen to Podcasts, insteasd of music, and maybe you will learn something!
Podcasts are a thing of the more recent times, the term actually invented in 2004.
So what is a podcast?
A podcast is an episodic series of digital audio or video files which a user can download and listen to. It is often available for subscription, so that new episodes are automatically downloaded via web syndication to the user's own local computer, mobile application, or portable media player.
The word arose as a portmanteau of "iPod" (a brand of media player) and "broadcast". Thus, the files distributed are in audio format, but may sometimes include other file formats such as PDF or ePub. Videos which are shared following a podcast model are called video podcasts or vodcasts.
The distributor of a podcast maintains a central list of the files on a server as a web feed that can be accessed through the Internet. The listener or viewer uses special client application software on a computer or media player, known as a podcatcher, which accesses this web feed, checks it for updates, and downloads any new files in the series. This process can be automated so that new files are downloaded automatically, which may seem to the user as though new episodes are broadcast or "pushed" to them. Files are stored locally on the user's device, ready for offline use. There are many different mobile applications available for people to use to subscribe and listen to podcasts. Many of these applications allow users to download podcasts or stream them on demand as an alternative to downloading. Many podcast players (apps as well as dedicated devices) allow listeners to skip around the podcast and control the playback speed.
Some have labeled podcasting as a converged medium bringing together audio, the web, and portable media players, as well as a disruptive technology that has caused some people in the radio business to reconsider established practices and preconceptions about audiences, consumption, production, and distribution. Podcasts are usually free of charge to listeners and can often be created for little to no cost, which sets them apart from the traditional model of "gate-kept" media and production tools. Podcast creators can monetize their podcasts by allowing companies to purchase ad time, as well as via sites such a Patreon, which provides special extras and content to listeners for a fee. It is very much a horizontal media form: producers are consumers, consumers may become producers, and both can engage in conversations with each other.
Here is a list of podcasts that I currently listen too, some on a weekly basis, and others depending on when they release new shows. You can check them out by clicking on the photos and the podcast itself will give you a description. These are mostly on the Google Play store, but you can find most of these in iTunes as well.

In a nation where we care more about what overpaid NFL players do than a United States Territory who was literally destroyed. The territory I am talking about is Puerto Rico.
First, there is a nation in trouble from the Hurricane Maria; we need to all keep them in our thoughts and prayers. You can donate to the cause here for the Red Cross.
Back on the topic of the National Anthem…
I am sure everyone has noticed that all the media is talking about is the NFL players protest and what President Donald Trump is saying about said topic.
First, I must add that I in no way agree with this form of protest and am not promoting it. I do find it disrespectful towards the United States flag and am not trying to start any arguements. But, the way the players are protesting, in reality, does not affect any of us in any shape or form.
After speaking to a Co-Worker of mine who is originally from Vietnam, I have changed my perspective, slightly, on this whole NFL protesting issue. If you don’t know, or missed that class in History, Vietnam is a communist nation. Think something close to what North Korea is today. He told me growing up if you did not stand for their national anthem and sing it, not just lip sing, you would get beat harshly. I am sure if you did in Vietnam what the NFL players are doing here, they would be publically executed. At 18 he left Vietnam and came to the United States of America. That was 20+ years ago and he is now a U.S. citizen.
Everyone that lives in America should feel lucky that we have Freedom of Speech. We have the First Amendment that reads: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
This same co-worker was at the New England Patriots game on Sunday and was in the area that started the boos for the players knelling. First of all, booing during the National Anthem is more disrespectful that knelling and second he told me some of the guys that were booing still had hats on which are also disrespectful.
Heck, everyone that complains that there needs to be a peaceful protest and not destruction, but when that peaceful protest happens, in this case during the National Anthem at a NFL game, people get up in arms. I mean that might not be the best time and place for a protest but it is peaceful. I am cool with the kneeling of the national anthem by pro players under one condition. They are working, they are in their UNIFORMS and as professionals they are expected to do a job, as professionals....remember that, as professionals. If these professionals want to protest the USA because they consider it bad, or wrong, then Professionals who make wedding cakes, wedding photos, wedding planning can protest gay marriage by not proving services to the LGBT community, and take a knee on the issue. Then hospital Professionals have the right to protest not proving insurance for abortions, or performing abortions as well. They can take a knee on the issue. Police and Firefighters can protest Antifa by not showing up when Antifa members are attacked by regular citizens who fight back. They can take a knee. Trump can protest the press for their unfair coverage of his presidency by taking a knee and not allowing any press (except for fox) in the press briefing room, or on Air Force One, or allow any of his team to interview with anyone (except for Fox). He can take a knee. So I say if the NFL Professionals can take a knee and not perform their duties then other Professionals can do the same thing.
To everyone that is protesting the NFL over the NFL players protesting the National Anthem, are you really protesting the NFL or are you still checking the scores, your fantasy teams, and the news? If you really want to protest the NFL, cancel your cable because the NFL is still getting money from you even though you’re not watching it.
Most of the players that have commented on the protests have their reasons, and most, if not all, have said that they support our Military and our Country. I did not agree with everything Obama said and did, but I respected him and prayed for him daily because he was the President of the United States of America.
So to get to my long ranted point, just imagine what we could accomplish as a nation if everyone that Protests and is upset at the Protests if we all work together.
Just remember, the United States flag does not represent Donald Trump. The flag is not a skin color, not a cop, religion, an ideology, Trump, Obama, Lincoln, Washington, and every other President. The flag represents Freedom and all Americans.
Take a little trip to Valley Forge in January. If you don't know where that is, just Google it from the sidelines. Hold a musket ball in your fingers and imagine it piercing your flesh and breaking a bone or two. There won't be a doctor or trainer to assist you until after the battle, so just wait your turn.Take your cleats and socks off to get a real experience. Then take a knee.
Then, take one at the beach in Normandy where man after American man stormed the beach, even as the one in front of him was shot to pieces...the very sea stained with American blood. The only blockers most had were the dead bodies in front of them, riddled with bullets from enemy fire.
Take a knee in the sweat soaked jungles of Vietnam. from Khe San to Saigon...Anywhere will do. Americans died in all those jungles. There was no playbook that told them what was next, but they knew what flag they represented. When they came home, they were protested as well..and spit on for reasons only cowards know.
Take another knee in the blood drenched sands of Fallujah in 110 degree heat..Wear your Kevlar helmet and battle dress...Your number won't be printed on it unless your number is up! You'll need to stay hydrated but there won't be anyone to squirt Gatorade into your mouth. You're on your own.
There's a lot of places to take a knee. Americans have given their lives all over the world. When you use the banner under which they fought as a source for your displeasure, you dishonor the memories of those who bled for the very freedoms you have. That's what the red stripes mean. It represents the blood of those who spilled a sea of it defending your liberty.
While you're on your knee, pray for those that came before you, not on a manicured lawn striped and printed with numbers to announce every inch of ground taken...but on nameless hills and bloodied beaches and sweltering forests and bitter cold mountains...every inch marked by an American life lost serving that flag you protest.
No cheerleaders, no announcers, no coaches, no fans...just American men and women...delivering the real fight against those who chose to harm us...blazing a path so you would have the right to "take a knee."
You haven't an inkling what it took to get you where you are...but your "protest" is duly noted. Not only is it disgraceful to a nation of real heroes, it serves the purpose of pointing to your ingratitude for those who chose to defend you under that banner that will still wave long after your jersey is retired...
If you really feel the need to take a knee, come with me to church on Sunday and we'll both kneel before Almighty God. We'll thank him for preserving this country for as long as He has. We'll beg forgiveness for our ingratitude for all He has provided us. We'll appeal to Him for understanding and wisdom. We'll pray for liberty and justice for all...because He is the one who provides those things.
But there will be no protest. There will only be gratitude for His provision and a plea for His continued grace and mercy on the land of the free and the home of the brave. It goes like this...
GOD BLESS AMERICA!

Texture is best described as the Netflix of magazines: It's an app that, for a monthly fee, gives you all-you-can-read access to a large library of digital magazines. You get over 200 of today's most popular magazines on one app. You can even download them for offline use later.
Texture now places a bigger emphasis on individual articles, as opposed to just whole issues. For starters, there's a "New & Noteworthy" section, curated by human editors behind the scenes. That same team also puts together "Curated Collections," groups of stories around a theme -- say, the anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. On the other hand, you can be a curator too, and save stories to your own collections. In that respect, Next Issue's new approach reminds me not just of Netflix, but Spotify too. I could, if I wanted, listen to the same songs on repeat or read the same two fashion magazines. Or, I could avail myself of playlists (collections) curated by humans with good taste. I like that I can do both.
To be clear, you can still mark whole magazines as your favorites and set the app to automatically download new editions as they come in. But Next Issue, which is owned by a handful of traditional media companies like Conde Nast, knows that nowadays people are used to getting their news on Twitter, web logs and Facebook. To the extent that you're used to just clicking on random links, it was important to Next Issue that Texture look a little like a home page. And indeed it does.
Also like a regular news site, there's a built-in search feature that gives you access to an archive of more than 15,000 back issues and 500,000 stories, which you can read separately from their original issues. So, if I typed in the word "marathon", I'd see articles not just from Runner's World, which I subscribe to, but also Running Times, which I never read. That's obviously good for publishers, which want to gain new readers. (Next Issue Media pays them based on how much time readers spend reading their stories, so there's an incentive to reach more people if possible.)
But this design is good for me too: If we're going to continue comparing Texture to Netflix, then it's worth pointing out that one of the things that makes Netflix so appealing is the way it helps us discover new stuff. If Netflix is great because of its algorithm, and cable TV is great because of its TV guide, then Texture is compelling because it can point me toward things I wouldn't have read otherwise .
Here is a brief list of the few of the many magazines that are offered:

The comparison marketplace is the culmination of Gift Card Granny's money-saving wisdom. It's a cozy place to buy, sell and trade gift cards. Shoppers are guaranteed the deepest discount and protected from Granny's arch-nemesis: buyers remorse. Here you'll find over 15,000 cards from hundreds of merchants in one convenient location. Cards culled from one of six trusted resellers can regularly be found for up to 50% off face value. Like many superheroes, the marketplace has a sidekick: The "sell" section is dedicated to preventing gift cards from becoming dust collectors. Shoppers who no longer want a card can sell it through the website for up to 90% cash back. The comparison function is a simple way to find the best offer from any of the six resellers. The Gift Card Alerts feature is the gray-haired financiers latest endeavor. You can sign up for e-mails alerts, select the gift cards you want and receive an electronic reminder. Every time a coveted new card goes on sale, you'll be among the first to know. Your selection can be changed at any time using an intuitive point-and-click menu.
Despite her modest demeanor, Gift Card Granny is a constant fixture in national publications. She has been seen on CBS's The Early Show, in the ink of The Los Angeles Times, and on the web pages of Walletpop and Mashable.
After explaining what Gift Card Granny is all about, I thought that I would share what cards I follow for discounts. I get daily emails about these and you can set up many stores under your alerts.

Ret. Marine Col. Jeffery Powers wrote to the NFL commissioners the following:
I’ve been a season pass holder at Yankee Stadium, Yale Bowl and the Giants Stadium.
I missed the ’90-’91 season because I was with a battalion of Marines in Desert Storm. 14 of my wonderful Marines returned home with the American Flag draped across their lifeless bodies. My last conversation with one of them, Sgt. Garrett Mongrella, was about how our Giants were going to the Super Bowl. He never got to see it.
Many friends, Marines, and Special Forces Soldiers who worked with or for me through the years returned home with the American Flag draped over their coffins.
Now I watch multi-millionaire athletes who never did anything in their lives but play a game, disrespect what brave Americans fought and died for. They are essentially spitting in the faces and on the graves of real men, men who have actually done something for this country beside playing with a ball and believing they’re something special! They’re not! My Marines and Soldiers were!
You are complicit in this! You’ll fine players for large and small infractions but you lack the moral courage and respect for our nation and the fallen to put an immediate stop to this. Yes, I know, it’s their 1st Amendment right to behave in such a despicable manner.
What would happen if they came out and disrespected you or the refs publicly?
I observed a player getting a personal foul for twerking in the end zone after scoring. I guess that’s much worse than disrespecting the flag and our National Anthem. Hmmmmm, isn’t it his 1st Amendment right to express himself like an idiot in the end zone?
Why is taunting not allowed yet taunting America is OK? You fine players for wearing 9-11 commemorative shoes yet you allow scum on the sidelines to sit, kneel or pump their pathetic fist in the air. They are so deprived with their multi-million dollar contracts for playing a freaking game!
You condone it all by your refusal to act. You’re just as bad and disgusting as they are. I hope Americans boycott any sponsor who supports that rabble you call the NFL. I hope they turn off the TV when any team that allowed this disrespect to occur, without consequence, on the sidelines. I applaud those who have not.
Legends and heroes do NOT wear shoulder pads. They wear body armor and carry rifles.
They make minimum wage and spend months and years away from their families. They don’t do it for an hour on Sunday. They do it 24/7 often with lead, not footballs, coming in their direction. They watch their brothers carted off in pieces not on a gurney to get their knee iced. They don’t even have ice! Many don’t have legs or arms.
Some wear blue and risk their lives daily on the streets of America. They wear fire helmets and go upstairs into the fire rather than down to safety. On 9-11, hundreds vanished. They are the heroes.
I hope that your high paid protesting pretty boys and you look in that mirror when you shave tomorrow and see what you really are, legends in your own minds. You need to hit the road and take those worms with you!
Time to change the channel.
GOD BLESS OUR MILITARY!!!!!
Music is always a passion to almost everyone nowadays. I listen to everything from Heavy Metal to Hip-Hop to Pop to Folk Music, everything except for Country music. When most people sit back and like to listen to Country music for comfort, it just makes me angry. Then again, Heavy Metal music calms me down.
Within the past few years I purged my music library to get rid of a lot of negative music. My music library only consisted of Christian artists. Within the past year or two, I have become more open again and have been exploring some of the secular music, and when I mean secular I mean bands that do not consider themselves a Christian Band. The swearing in music no longer bothers me, as long as it is used in context to express meaning to something and not just swearing for the fun of it. Also, as long as the lyrics aren’t being completely negative, talking about using drugs, sleeping with women, etc. then I am up for checking out new music. So if you are in a band and not listed on my list below, I am willing to check out your music!
I also am a fan of buying music. No illegal downloading here. Yes, I do have a Google Play account, but I still buy CD's and T-Shirts of all of my favorite bands! You can't say you like an artist if you just stream there music for $10 a month on whatever streaming service you use, because that supports the band very little.
Below is a list of my favorite bands in each of my “main” genres. You can click on their photo to check out their Websites. All photos are copyright to the band and/or their photographers.
Rock – Disciple
Disciple was one of the first Christian band I listened too, this started back in 2007. There music has helped me through some rough times and I still love their music today. I respect what Kevin Young (lead singer) has done with the band over the course of 25+ years spreading the good word of Jesus. I have seen lots of people accept Jesus through his sermons, well not sermons but mid set speech. Kevin, you happen to read this, I just want to say that you have been playing longer than most of your fans have been alive (joke intended).
Metal – Demon Hunter
Demon Hunter was the first metalcore band CD I bought back in 2008. That CD was Storm the gates of Hell. Even though they do not tour much anymore, I try to see them when I can and it seems that they are always swinging by my area of PA.
Metal (new) – Fit For A King
One day when Demon Hunter calls it quits (I hope no time soon), Fit For A King will overtake them as my number 1 Metal band. I actually found out about them most recently, within the past few years. Love the message they present in their music and what they stand for.
Hip-Hip – Thi’sl
Thi’sl, just check out his music. This guy has been through so much in his life, I respect this guy and love what he is doing in his city, and around the world. I know some of his story; I will not share it because I do not want to get anything wrong. His lyrics are real and he spreads the message well.
Female Fronted Rock & Metal – The Letter Black
I have been a long time fan of The Letter Black since their original band name Breaking the Slience and their newest CD just knocked it out of the park with making them my #1 female front rock & metal band. Just check them out!
All the rest of my favorites, these are in alphabetical order with some other categories. You can click on the band name to see their website / Facebook page.

I just finished reading, well listening, to Ready Player One. Before I get too far into my short spoiler free review, I would highly recommend listening to this book over reading it, Wil Wheaten reads it and it is amazing.
Do you like music from the 1980’s? What about movies from the 80’s? What about video games from the 80’s? Do you like just one of them or do you like the 80’s culture all together?
Well, Ready Player One is based in the year 2044; the world has been gripped by an energy crisis from the depletion of fossil fuels and the consequences of global warming, causing widespread social problems and economic stagnation. To escape the decline their world is facing, people turn to the OASIS, a virtual reality simulator accessible by players using visors and haptic technology such as gloves. It functions both as an MMORPG and as a virtual society, with its currency being the most stable in the real world. It was created by James Halliday who, when he died, had announced in his will to the public that he had left an Easter egg inside OASIS, and the first person to find it would inherit his entire fortune and the corporation. The story follows the adventures of Wade Watts, starting about five years after the announcement, when he discovers one of the three keys pointing to the treasure.
You might first be thinking, why would I read a book that is all about some game? The book is more than just about a game. It is all about an adventure, an adventure through a game with lots of material from the 80’s. It also is a thriller, action, heck even a love story. It touched lots of movies, games, music, and more.
As you read/listen to it, you will come to a realization to why the book is called Ready Player One and it is not what you think.
This book was so good; it just left you wanting more. I was disappointed when it ended, not because how it ended, but because I just want more. There are articles saying a sequel might be in the works. There is also a movie in the works that is supposed to be released on March 30, 2018 and it looks promising based on the trailer.
I highly recommend a read, well more of a listen. You can read and listen to it for free from 2 weeks, Hoopla & Overdrive. The only thing you need is a library card, which you can get from your local library. These websites work like your standard library, if someone else has it checked out, you have to wait until they are done and check it back in until you can borrow it.
I am not going to lie, after listening to this I want to hook up my Atari and start playing some old games! Ready Player One!
